This story was originally broadcasted on 2SER’s The Daily.

The demolition of Allianz stadium will go ahead before the next election, with a challenge from Local Democracy Matters and Waverley Council being dismissed by the Land and Environment Court yesterday.

The destruction of Allianz has been one of the more contentious issues of the Berejiklian government, with critics arguing it is unnecessary and that the money could be put to better use elsewhere.

To discuss yesterday’s ruling, The Daily’s Victor Petrovic is joined by John Wakefield, Mayor of Waverley Council and a part of the team challenging the demolition.
